The Harold Latrace Family and Associates Foundation (HLF) is seeking proposals for project-based initiatives that will support children and youth and help them develop into healthy and confident adults. Believing that children and youth have the right to develop to the full extent of their potential, but are frequently impeded by their circumstances, the HLF will award an annual grant ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 to a registered Saskatchewan-based charity that provides social and/or educational services to children and youth facing challenges.
If your organization falls within these guidelines, then we encourage you to submit a proposal with the following information:
- Letter of Intent:
A summary that describes the purpose of the project as well as the amount of funding required;
- Organization’s Background:
A brief description of its history, objectives and activities as well as the programs offered;
- Project Description:
This needs to include clear and concise description of the project, desired outcome and budget, which includes all expenses, overhead and administration;
- Financial Statement:
The HLF requires the most recent financial statement as well as a copy of the operation budget for the current year;
- Board of Directors:
Provide a list of your Board of Directors with a brief description of each person;
- Registered Charity:
Provide the registered charity number under the Income Tax Act for CRA.
Grants will be generally awarded for a one-year period, but the HLF will consider funding longer-term projects (up to three years) in cases justified by the applicant and deemed appropriate by the HLF. The HLF requires grant recipients to inform them of any changes to the proposed project.
The HLF will not award grants for the following:
- General administration costs
- Emergency funds
- Deficit financing
- Grants to individuals
- General fund raising
- Conference expenses including travel, accommodation, and/or registration fees
- Health care
